Steps to follow to register in Barcelona
Barcelona registration is a mandatory requirement for any person, national or foreigner living in the region. In fact, anyone who lives in Spain on a regular basis, or as a resident for more than 183 days a year, is under a legal obligation to register in the municipality where they live.

How to register in Barcelona
There are three ways to register in Barcelona:
In person:
In this case you must request a registration appointment in Barcelona or go personally to the office of the corresponding city council.Online:
To register Barcelona online you must access the official website of the city council, fill out the form and attach the requested documents in digital format.By telephone:
When contacting the service, you will be asked for a physical address where you will receive a letter with instructions and forms to fill out. Once done, you will issue everything requested and, you will obtain your certification by mail.If you do the process in person, you can register in a matter of minutes. By the other way, it depends on the speed at which you send the requested documents.
Barcelona registration, necessary documents and their validity
The documents for the Barcelona registration are the same for any modality; online must be organized in digital files.
The necessary documents are:
DNI or passport, for nationals
Passport, residence card or DNI of the country of origin, for people from the EU, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland
Passport or residence card, for those from other countries
Fill out the registration application form
Property ownership document if you live in your own home.
Housing rental agreement, accompanied by an authorization form by the landlord or landlord
Various documents according to each special case, such as registration of minors, change of address, updating of marital status, among others
The register does not have an expiration date for Spanish citizens. For foreigners from outside the EU, they must renew their Barcelona registration every 2 years.
How to request an appointment for registration in Barcelona
For the Barcelona registration, you can request an appointment at the Citizen Service Offices (OAC) in the city, or at the office where you want to register. This way, you have the opportunity to choose your favorite day and time.

You can do it from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 until 20:00 hours. If you require any information or clarification you do not need an appointment.
How to register in Barcelona without a fixed address
If you have arrived in the city and your plans include your Barcelona registration, but you do not yet have a permanent address, you can request a visit from the City Council for Social Services to see where you are currently staying; they will present a one-month Residence Knowledge Report (ICR), with which you will be able to register. In Barcelona there is the company Enso co-living that offers temporary accommodation and provides all the necessary assistance for the Barcelona registration.
